It comes in a great roll-on applicator, making it easy and convenient to use!

Recent studies show that stress and anxiety have been shown to reduce immunity as well as increase susceptibility to disease. It’s important to stabilize and balance our bodies, knowing that good health begins with emotional well-being. The essential oils in the Tranquil blend have been found to substancially reduce restlessness, anxious feelings and calm the mind and body.

Try Tranquil roll-on on directly on the sinus’ to reduce inflammation and drain the sinus passages (not too close to the eyes!) when suffering from environmental allergies. It works great!

Using Essential Oils for Aromatherapy is a great way to set the mood for romance. Here are my top choices for setting the mood:

Joy™ is a luxuriously exotic blend with uplifting overtones that creates magnetic energy and brings joy to the heart. When worn as cologne or perfume, Joy exudes an alluring and irresistible fragrance that inspires romance and togetherness. When diffused, it can be refreshing and uplifting.

JOY contains:

Rose, Bergamot, Mandarin, YlangYlang, Lemon, Geranium, Jasmine, Palmarosa,Roman Chamomile, and Rosewood.

Rose (Rosa damascena) has a beautiful, strong floral and sweet fragrance that is intoxicating and highly romantic. It helps bring balance and harmony with stimulating and uplifting properties that create a sense of well-being and self-confidence. Used for skin care for thousands of years, it is perfect for dry or aging skin. Rose has an approximate ORAC of 1,604,284 (TE/L). TE/L is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter.

Jasmine** (Jasminum officinale) has a warm, exotic, floral fragrance that relaxes, soothes, uplifts, and enhances self-confidence. Jasmine is beneficial for the skin. It has been used throughout history for romance and attraction and for balancing the feminine energy of the body.

**Jasmine is an absolute or essence, rather than an essential oil.

Lady Sclareol was compounded to wear as a perfume and fragrance is different for each wearer as it reacts with each person’s chemistry differently. It enhances the feminie nature by improving the mood.

Lady Sclareol contains:

Rosewood, Vetiver, Geranium, Orange, Clary Sage, Ylang Ylang, Sandalwood, Spanish Sage, and Jasmine.

This can be worn as a perfume, or you can put around ankle bones for female reflex point or at the clavical notch.

The Raindrop Technique was developed by D. Gary Young, founder of Young Living Essential Oils, based on techniques taught to him by a Lakota medicine man named Wallace Black Elk. In Lakota Native American healing practices, healers sweep a feather upwards along the spine in imitation of the Northern Lights, which are revered for their healing energy.

7 single oils and 2 therapeutic blends are applied in the raindrop technique, using a method Vita Flex, reflexology, massage techniques, etc. The oils are applied to various locations of the body to bring it structural and electrical alignment. It is designed to bring balance to the body with its relaxing and mild application. It will help align the energy centers of the body and release them, if blocked, without using hard pressure or trying to force the body to change – which should never be done.

The recipient lays face down as oils are dropped along the spine, from a height of 6-12 inches. The oils are gently massaged in with the Lakota “feathering” motion. The basic raindrop oils are as follows:

Valor (a blend of: Spruce, Rosewood, Frankincense, Blue Tansy, Lavender) works on the physical, electrical, spiritual and emotional levels, supporting physical and energy alignment.

Oregano: has potent antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Thyme: is highly antimicrobial, inhibiting the growth of infectious microorganisms. It easily penetrates the skin and travels throughout the body.

Basil: has antispasmodic properties that relax the muscles. Also anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial.

Cypress: improves circulation, relieves spasms and swelling and helps heal damaged tissue.

Wintergreen: is anti-inflammatory and analgesic (pain-relieving) due to high content of methyl slicylate, excellent for bones, muscles and joints.

Marjoram: is antispasmodic, antiseptic, and antimicrobial, nerve calming and muscle relaxing.

Peppermint: enhances the effects of all preceeding oils. It is pain-killing, antimicrobial, stimulates circulation and cooles inflamed tissue.

Aroma Siez: (a blend of: Basil, Cypress, Marjoram, Lavender, Peppermint) is anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxing, promotes circulation and treats tight, aching muscles, resulting from injury, fatigue or stress, relieves headaches.

These therapeutic-grade oils flush out toxins and kill dormant viruses and bacteria along the spine, restoring health to the entire system. It is important for both the trainer and the recipient drink plenty of water before and after the application.

Cautions

Raindrop technique was designed to optimize the power of only the highest quality, pure, organic, therapeutic-grade oils.

Several of the oils used in this technique, including oregano, thyme and basil, are considered hot oils. These oils can cause skin irritation. Keep a bottle of pure, natural massage oil base handy. If any of the hot oils cause irritation, which is perfectly normal, simply apply massage oil liberally to soothe the heat.

The question is often asked, “How long does this application last?” Everyone responds differently. Generally speaking, the level of health and proper diet are key factors as are exercise and mental attitude. One application may last months for one person, but then for another it may be necessary to have the application every week until the body begins to respond. The key is to retrain the body. In some cases, you will have to develop a new memory in the tissue in order for the body to stay where it should be. This may take a few weeks or over a year.

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils from plants to support and balance the mind, body, and spirit.

What is aromatherapy?
Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils from plants to support and balance the mind, body, and spirit. There is no evidence that aromatherapy cures or prevents cancer. It is used by patients with cancer mainly as a form of supportive care that may improve quality of life and reduce stress and anxiety. Aromatherapy may be combined with other complementary treatments like massage therapy and acupuncture, as well as with standard treatments.

Essential oils (also known as volatile oils) are the basic materials of aromatherapy. They are made from fragrant essences found in many plants. These essences are made in special plant cells, often under the surface of leaves, bark, or peel, using energy from the sun and elements from the air, soil, and water. If the plant material is crushed, the essence and its unique fragrance are released.

When essences are extracted from plants in natural ways, they become essential oils. They may be distilled with steam and/or water, or mechanically pressed. Oils that are made with chemical processes are not considered true essential oils.

There are many essential oils used in aromatherapy, including Roman chamomile, geranium, lavender, tea tree, lemon, cedarwood, and bergamot. Each type of essential oil has a different chemical structure that affects how it smells, how it is absorbed, and how it is used by the body. Even varieties of plants within the same species may have chemical structures different from each other because they are grown or harvested in different ways or locations.

Essential oils are very concentrated. For example, it takes about 220 lbs of lavender flowers to make about 1 pound of essential oil. Essential oils are very volatile, evaporating quickly when they come in contact with air.

What is the history of the discovery and use of aromatherapy as a complementary and alternative treatment for cancer?
Fragrant plants have been used in healing practices for thousands of years across many cultures, including ancient China, India, and Egypt. Ways to extract essential oils from plants were first discovered during the Middle Ages.

The history of modern aromatherapy began in the early 20th century, when French chemist Rene Gattefosse coined the term “aromatherapie” and studied the effects of essential oils on many kinds of diseases. In the 1980s and 1990s, aromatherapy was rediscovered in Western countries as interest in complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) began to grow.

What is the theory behind the claim that aromatherapy is useful in treating cancer?
Aromatherapy is generally not suggested as a treatment for cancer, but as a form of supportive care to manage symptoms of cancer or side effects of cancer treatment. There are different theories about how aromatherapy and essential oils work. One theory is that smell receptors in the nose may respond to the smells of essential oils by sending chemical messages along nerve pathways to the brain’s limbic system, which affects moods and emotions. Imaging studies in humans help show the effects of smells on the limbic system and its emotional pathways. Another theory suggests that because essential oils are extracted from whole aromatic plants, they have a life force or vitality that can affect the body in unique ways.

How is aromatherapy administered?
Aromatherapy is most often used in one of two ways:

Inhalation (taking into the body by breathing). This can be done by using a diffuser or placing drops of essential oils near the patient.

Topical treatment (applied to the surface of the body), usually in a diluted form. This can be done by massaging with essential oils diluted in a carrier oil, or by using essential oils in bathwater, lotions, or dressings.

Aromatherapy is rarely taken by mouth.

There are some essential oils commonly chosen to treat specific conditions. However, the types of oils used and the ways they are combined may vary, depending on the experience and training of the aromatherapist. This lack of standard methods has led to conflicting research on the effects of aromatherapy.

Have any preclinical (laboratory or animal) studies been conducted using aromatherapy?
Many studies of essential oils have found that they have antibacterial effects when applied to the skin. In addition, studies in rats have shown that different essential oils can be calming or energizing. When rats were exposed to certain fragrances under stressful conditions, their behavior and immune responses were improved.

One study showed that after essential oils were inhaled, markers of the fragrance compounds were found in the bloodstream, suggesting that aromatherapy affects the body directly like a drug, rather than indirectly through the central nervous system.

Have any clinical trials (research studies with people) of aromatherapy been conducted?
Clinical trials of aromatherapy have mainly studied its use in the treatment of stress, anxiety, and other health-related conditions in seriously ill patients. Several clinical trials of aromatherapy in patients with cancer have been published with mixed results.

A few early studies have shown that aromatherapy may improve quality of life in patients with cancer. Some patients receiving aromatherapy have reported improvement in symptoms such as nausea or pain, and have lower blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rates.

Studies of massage with or without aromatherapy in cancer patients found that they had less anxiety and more restful sleep, although there is mixed evidence about whether aromatherapy itself adds to the benefits of massage therapy.

A small study of tea tree oil as a topical treatment to clear antibiotic -resistant MRSA bacteria from the skin of hospital patients found that it was as effective as the standard treatment.

Have any side effects or risks been reported from aromatherapy?
Safety testing on essential oils shows very few bad side effects or risks when they are used as directed. Some essential oils have been approved as ingredients in food and are classified as GRAS (generally recognized as safe) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, within specific limits. Eating large amounts of essential oils is not recommended.

Allergic reactions and skin irritation may occur in aromatherapists or in patients, especially when essential oils are in contact with the skin for long periods of time. Sun sensitivity may develop when citrus or other oils are applied to the skin before sun exposure.

Lavender and tea tree oils have been found to have some hormone -like effects. They have effects similar to estrogen (female sex hormone) and also block or decrease the effect of androgens (male sex hormones). Applying lavender and tea tree oils to the skin over a long period of time has been linked to breast enlargement in boys who have not yet reached puberty. It is not known if the use of lavender and tea tree oils is safe for women who have a high risk for breast cancer that is estrogen-receptive.

Is aromatherapy approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use as a cancer treatment in the United States?
Aromatherapy products do not need approval by the Food and Drug Administration because no specific claims are made for the treatment of cancer or other diseases.

Aromatherapy is not regulated by state law, and there is no licensing required to practice aromatherapy in the United States. Professionals often combine aromatherapy training with another field in which they are licensed, for example, massage therapy, registered nursing, acupuncture, or naturopathy.
