Ocotea!

Source:  leaf of a tree deep in the Amazon forest.  Gathered, loaded on a bush plane and flown to the Young Living farm (Finca Botanica Aromatica) for distillation.  It is now being grown at the Young Living farm.

Species:  related to the cinnamon species, but its aroma differs from that of any common cinnamon.  Also, it has far less skin sensitivity than cinnamon bark or cassia.

Constituents:  has the highest level of alpha-humulene of any essential oil.  It balances the body’s internal response to irritation.  Only copaiba essential oil has comparable levels of this natural plant compound.

Traditional uses by people in the area where it is grown:  disinfectant, digestive support.

Uses at the Clinic in Ecuador:  very good for blood glucose levels (1-3 drops under the tongue), kills parasites and candida (1 drop in water and also diffuse), anti-diarrhea, anti-inflammatory, regulates liver, balances metabolism.  Weight loss reported!!

Naturopath in Utah using ocotea with a patient:   blood sugar levels went down.
